Devastating
Love
Rita said, “You are very lucky Anita; your
husband loves you so much. People could be jealous of his love for you.”
On her friend’s remark, Anita replied,
“That is true. There is no doubt or argument about his love. His love is honest
and selfless. I do not have words to describe his love for me.”
Anita continued, “When I go shopping he
always goes with me. When I start choosing a certain dress design he comes to
me and says- that dress which you have chosen doesn’t look beautiful on you.
Please choose this dress instead. This dress looks more beautiful than that one
you have chosen.”
“At times, when I go to the kitchen and
try to cook one of my recipes he comes into the kitchen and says- why are you
taking the trouble to cook, I will do it. Instead of cooking, go the living
room and watch the television and enjoy your favorite shows. While watching
television I like to eat sweets, ice cream, potato chips etc. My husband stops
me from eating those things and says- honey, don’t eat those things. Those
things are harmful for your health and you might gain more weight. You are so
beautiful as you are.”
“I also enjoy going to the swimming pool
and swimming in the deep water. My husband is scared of deep water and rarely
suggests that I should go to the pool. He says- darling, don’t go to the
swimming pool. If you get nervous while swimming you might sink in the deep
water and that frightens me. ”
After listening to Anita, Rita commented,
“You should be very proud of your husband’s love.”
Anita said immediately, “That is just part
of the story. There is another part and that is, I am tired of my husband’s
love. His love is ruining my freedom. Don’t you think so, Rita?”
Rita had no words to answer her friend’s
question.
