The
Philosopher
The
philosopher was a great orator too. He was very famous for public speaking.
Listeners did look like a stone when he started to say something on any topic.
The audience did pay so much attention that they didn’t have any movement while
listening to him. His speeches were highly appreciated all over the world. He
used to say, “There is no life or death. There is a soul and it is immortal.
Only the soul transfers from one body to another. When the soul comes in a
certain material the material gets a shape of a living thing. Death means only
changing the soul from one body to another.”
Once the
philosopher’s follower asked, “Guru, why people cry when their loved ones die?”
“It is
their ignorance,” Guru replied. Guru further said, “They don’t have knowledge
about the soul. They don’t know what is life and death. General people only
know that death is end of the life. That is not true. Death kills only the body
not the soul. Since the soul never dies there is no meaning of crying.”
The
follower seemed fully satisfied with his Guru’s answer. He felt his Guru is
great. His Guru has clear vision about the soul, life, and death. That is why
he never seemed in sock after hearing about some one’s death. The follower
remembered his Guru’s firm position in any unfavorable circumstances and no any
death-news could make him upset and unstable.
Guru once
got back from his abroad visit unexpectedly. The follower came to know that his
Guru had made his visit shorter. Guru’s such sudden return put his follower in
a greater surprise. The follower went to see his Guru. He found his Guru much
more upset than ever. He never had seen his Guru that much upset. He wanted to
ask the Guru about the cause of his worry. He tried to ask some questions to
know about his Guru’s problem, but he couldn’t ask his Guru.
The
follower regretted for not asking his Guru any question while heading to his
home. He even felt himself guilty for this. When he got home he turned the TV
to listen to the current news and distracts his mind somewhere else. One of the
headlines of the current news attracted his attention surprisingly. The
headline was, “The world famous Guru’s mother has passed away, yesterday
morning.”
The
follower came to know the cause of his Guru’s upset and his views about the
soul, life, and death.
